f1 Art exhibit

Miami, FL (April 13, 2023) - The Museum of Graffiti is thrilled to announce an upcoming pop-up exhibition inside the ultra-exclusive Paddock Club during Miami's Formula 1 race weekend from May 5 - 7, 2023. This one-of-a-kind exhibit will showcase the incredible talents of 15 of Miami's top street and graffiti artists, who have hand embellished rare photographs of different Formula 1 vehicles taken by renowned automotive photographer, Lucinda L. Lewis.

Spanning decades of racing history, the exhibit will include a diverse selection of car makes and models from illustrious Formular 1 manufacturers like Mercedes, Ferrari, and McLaren. Each image captures the essence of the racing world, while the added graffiti art brings a fresh and modern perspective that reflects the dynamic spirit of Miami.

The show will take place within the prestigious Paddock Club, providing guests with an extraordinary and immersive art experience that includes complimentary custom airbrushing of fedoras and the production of a sprawling mural. Each collaborative work will also be presented alongside the historical information about the specific car in the photograph. For instance, the information next to Lewis’ photograph of a 2002 Ferrari F2002 Formula 1 (reimagined by female powerhouse graffiti artist REDS 004 for this exhibit) says that it was "raced by team members Michael Schumacher and Rubens Barrichello who clocked an extraordinary fifteen victories behind the wheel of the F2002 in Formula One during the 2002-2003 racing seasons. The car performed so well, Ferrari stopped developing the car mid-season and still swept the world drivers’ and constructors’ titles.”

The Museum of Graffiti's invitation to participate in the Paddock Club’s race weekend festivities is a testament to the growing recognition and appreciation of graffiti art as a significant cultural phenomenon. The collaboration offers a rare opportunity for Formula 1 enthusiasts and art lovers alike to witness the fusion of two worlds, where speed and creativity collide.

“All 15 participating artists jumped at the opportunity to work on this project with Lucinda Lewis who has taken over 500,000 photographs of cars during her career," said Allison Freidin, Co-Founder of the Museum of Graffiti. “This is going to be a good one!"
